I walked down the dark hallway to find something beautiful. I popped in a token and pushed the silver button. As the machine began to come alive, it belched and squeaked an unsettling ballade no.1 in g minor op. 23. It was Chopin, my favorite. For a moment I no longer felt like the strangest, most alienated person on the planet. Whoever made this had clearly embraced their insanity and awkwardness to the world far more than I could of ever conceived. For a fleeting moment I could understand what the meanings of love and connection really were. For nine minutes and fourteen seconds I was truly at peace.
